Warning 6697

  • Short Text:  Discipline Record is not Unique.

  • Long Text: Discipline Record is not Unique. (1) The event that a student has multiple incidents with the same incident date and discipline date within the same school is unlikely. (2) A single incident date may be associated with multiple disciplines, but no incident should have disciplines with the same discipline date and discipline type.

  • Business Rules:

    • Calculation--1) Throw if student has multiple incidents with SAME combination of incident date and discipline date and school ID OR 2) For a student there are multiple discipline actions with the SAME combination of Discipline Date and Discipline (descriptor) for a single incident

  • How to Fix: Verify the details of the student’s incident in question. Check the incident date and behavior, as well as the discipline date and discipline action, consulting incident reports and documentation as needed. Once you have verified all the details, if the two discipline records submitted are identical, it is likely you have accidentally double reported on the same incident. If so, remove the extra submission and then acknowledge the warning.

  • Example: District Deb sees a warning that Jamie’s discipline record isn’t unique. When Deb looks into the matter, she finds that Jamie had an incident and two discipline actions of Suspension both with a discipline date of 7/1. Deb sees that all the details of incident and incident date, discipline and discipline date are all identical. Because Jamie didn’t really have two separate identical incidents on the same date, Deb removes the extra discipline submission and then acknowledges the warning.
