Error 6589

  • Short Text: Required field is missing, 'Parentally Placed Private'.

  • Long Text: Required field is missing, 'Parentally Placed Private'. Parentally Placed Private is provided to identify whether or not the student has been placed in a private school by a parent or guardian and has a Service Plan with this district. This field is required for every student to a Special Education program association.

  • Business Rule Impact:

    • Calculation-- sSEPA Resource is submitted AND wiDPIParentPlacedPrivate field is missing.

  • How to Fix: Check to see if the student has a Special Education program association. Then verify whether or not the student was placed in a private school and if the student has a service plan in the district. If the student is attending a private school, mark the student’s record in your SIS with a value of true/yes for Parentally Placed Private. In the event the student is not Parentally Placed Private, you will likely need to further investigate the student’s records at the public school he or she may be attending instead and what other information needs to be included as part of the sSEPA.

  • Example: Brandon’s record is throwing an error for a missing field of Parentally Placed Private. District Deb looks into the matter and finds that Brandon is part of Special Education with a service plan in the district for his Intellectual Disability but attends Peppermint Private High School for his education. Deb verifies his Special Education information and then adds a true value of Parentally Placed Private to Brandon’s record.
