Error 6505

  • Short Text: Student was submitted by another Choice school as an expected interdistrict transfer to your Choice school system or school.

  • Long Text: Student was submitted by another Choice school as an expected interdistrict transfer to your Choice school system or school. No record of this interdistrict transfer has been found in WISEdata. If this student transferred to your system or school, then submit a WISEdata enrollment record for the student to verify the student's status as a transfer rather than a dropout.  If the student does not meet the criteria to be enrolled in your school, then refer to the Expected Transfer Section of the WISEdata Portal Student Detail for further information.

  • Business Rules:

    • Calculation--This rule runs when the expected_transfer_agency_key is not null, is a valid system or school for the appropriate school year, does not equal the submitting system or school and expected transfer response is missing.

    • Logic--(1) This is the CHOICE school version of this rule. (2) This rule is the main indicator that the WISEdata expected transfer screen will need to be completed for this student. (3) This rule ignores records where the student is a private-paying student in a private school. Expected transfer response becomes required when this error is thrown. (4) This is an interdistrict transfer. (5) This runs for possible full-term dropouts.

  • How to Fix: Another Choice school reported that one of their students was transferring to your school. Because WISEdata hasn’t yet seen reported proof of this transfer, you need to take action. If this student transferred to your school/system, then submit a WISEdata enrollment record for the student; a new enrollment will prove the student's status as a transfer rather than a dropout. However, if the student did not transfer to and enroll in your school, then navigate to the Expected Transfer Response section in the WISEdata Portal Student Detail screen to answer questions about the situation.

  • Example: District Deb notices an error that Sandy was set to transfer to the Choice school, Summer Nights High School, from Grease Lightning High, another Choice school in the district, but Sandy doesn’t have a new enrollment in WISEdata for the expected transfer to Summer Nights High School. Deb discovers that Sandy has not yet enrolled at Summer Nights, so Deb works in the WISEdata Portal to answer a couple questions in the Expected Transfer Response section.
