Error 6593

  • Short Text: Special Education program association IEP begin date is missing or is invalid.

  • Long Text: Special Education program association IEP begin date is missing or is invalid. IEP/ISP begin date of Special Education program association is required and must be within the school year of this resource or the immediately previous school year.

  • Business Rule Impact:
  • Calculation--IEPBeginDate of sSEPA is NOT within the school year of this resource or the immediately previous school year.
  • This error will result in data not being included for Oct 1 Child Count reporting. This validation is functioning as intended (Currently not listed on the bug issues list) and should be resolved prior to snapshot.

  • How to Fix: First verify when the student last had an IEP evaluation/reevaluation. Ensure the date of the IEP is either in the current school year or the most recent previous school year. Then enter the date of the IEP begin date in the appropriate Special Education field.

  • Example: Sam's record is returning an error about not having an IEP begin date. District Deb looks into the matter and sees Sam last had an IEP evaluation September 10, 2016, but his record shows a date of September 2, 2014. Deb knows this date is too old and replaces it with the more recent, correct date of September 10, 2016 to remove the error.
