Error 6680

  • Short Text: Zero days removed within the current term (action length) reported for suspension or IAES discipline.

  • Long Text: Zero days removed within the current term (action length) reported for suspension or IAES discipline. An Out-of-School Suspension, In-school Suspension, or Interim Alternative Education Setting Placement (HO or SP) discipline should be reported in the same school term as the incident and only when the student is removed for 0.5 days or more. Action length of zero is allowed only for expulsions.

  • Business Rules:

    • Calculation--Discipline (DisciplineActions endpoint) = Outofschool suspension OR Inschool Suspension Or IAES by School Personnel Or IAES by Hearing Officer AND 'Length' (on the same Discipline Actions endpoint) = 0. Throw this.

  • How to Fix: Verify the student’s discipline action to see if it’s truly a suspension or IAES removal rather than an expulsion. Only expulsions can have an action length of zero. If it’s a suspension or IAES removal, remove the invalid value of zero and enter the correct number of days the student was removed during the school term when the incident took place.

  • Example: Justin’s record is throwing an error that he has zero days removed for the reported suspension. District Deb looks into the situation and verifies that Justin was suspended for engaging in a fight in the school hallway. Deb discovers he was given a five-day suspension, so she removes the incorrect value of 0 and enters 5 in the Discipline Length field.
