Error 6581

  • Short Text: Invalid 'Grade Level Placement;" Grade provided is outside the low – high range for the expected transfer district or school.

  • Long Text: Invalid 'Grade Level Placement;" Grade provided is outside the low – high range for the expected transfer district or school. The student does not yet have a subsequent enrollment in WISEdata. Grade Level Placement must be within the low – high range of the district identified as expected transfer district, if a district other than your own is selected, or of the school identified as expected transfer school within your own district. If the record indicates the student was promoted (Repeated School Indicator = N), then grade advancement is assumed.  Completed School Term is 'N' or is missing, so the grade range for the current school year is used. Review the grade, repeated grade indicator, Completed School Term, and the expected transfer district and/or school.

  • Business Rules Logic: Grade Level Placement must be within the low-high range of the district identified as Expected Transfer District if a district other than your own is selected or if the school identified as Expected Transfer School is within your own district. Completed School Term is 'N' or is missing, so the grade range for the current school year is used. Review the grade,Completed School Term, and the Expected Transfer District and/or School

  • How to Fix: Verify the student’s correct grade level, checking with teachers and staff, as necessary. The student doesn't have a new enrollment for the transfer school, so also check that the student really transferred, especially because the student is not marked as having completed the school term. After making sure the student is indeed attending the school in question for the expected transfer, double check that the student’s grade level is one available at the particular school. Remove the invalid grade level and enter an appropriate grade level to reflect the student’s status at the new school. Work with the new school/district as needed.

  • Example: Winston’s record is throwing an error that he has an invalid grade level placement for his expected transfer. His record currently lists him in the fifth grade, but when District Deb looks into the situation, she finds Winston is transferring to Jellyfish Junior High to start sixth grade classes early because he is excelling in his course work. There is no fifth grade option at Jellyfish, only 6-8. Deb double checks with Winston’s former school, Eel Elementary to verify that he is accelerating from fifth to sixth grade course work mid-year, which she finds to be true. She corrects the error by removing the invalid fifth grade value and entering his grade level at sixth grade for his transfer to Jellyfish.
