Error 6664

  • Short Text:  Invalid 'Discipline Date' for suspension or IAES discipline.

  • Long Text: Invalid 'Discipline Date' for suspension or IAES discipline. 'Discipline Date' must be equal to or greater than Incident Date and must occur within the same school year as the Incident Date. The discipline date is expected to be on or before the district's last day of school and must be on or before 6/30. For suspensions (out-of-school and in-school) and IAES (removal by school personnel or hearing office), a minimum of 0.5 days removed in the regular school term is required. A discipline date during summer school must not be sent because such a student would be removed 0 days during the regular school year.

  • Business Rules:

    • Calculation--Throw if (Discipline Date (DisciplineActions endpoint)< Incident Date (DisciplineIcidents endpoint) OR Discipline Date does not occur in the same school year as Incident date. (Note - discipline date should be >= 7/1 2016  and <= 6/30 2017. Do not need to look at the district start and end date)) WHERE Disciplines (DisciplineActions endpoint) is suspensions (two types) OR IAES Discipline (2 types)

  • How to Fix: Verify the student’s discipline action and discipline date that were determined after the incident. For suspensions and IAES removals, the discipline date should occur in the same school year as the incident and should be on or before the last day of the school year. Remove the invalid value in the field for Discipline Date and then enter the correct date, ensuring it matches the discipline date’s year and is at least 0.5 days for removal.

  • Example: Carla’s record displays an error that she has an invalid discipline date. District Deb looks into the situation and finds that Carla was caught with drugs at school and given a two-day out-of-school suspension. When Deb checks on the date, she sees that it actually happened in summer school. Deb knows WISEdata only collects days removed during the regular school year, so suspensions over the summer should not be submitted. She removes the invalid Discipline Date to clear the error.
