Error 6785

Short Text: At least one of the  Career Pathway Types submitted on the Course Offering should match with the Career Pathway Type populated on the associated DPI CTE course.

Long Text: At least one of the Career Pathway Types submitted on the Course Offering should match with the Career Pathway Type populated on the associated DPI CTE course. NCES SCED 5.0 version provides a CTE course to Career Pathway Type mapping. It is expected by the district to use the same mapping while submitting Career Pathway Type on Course Offerings. If one-to-one mapping exists, then one Career Pathway Type is expected to be submitted on Course Offerings. If one-to-many mapping exists, then at least one of the Career Pathway Types is expected to be submitted on Course Offerings.

Business Rule Logic: Course Offering endpoint is submitted with career Pathway Type.
This career Pathway Type does not match with the career Pathway Type on the associated courses endpoint
(Note - If one to one mapping exists, then the same is expected to be submitted on course Offering
If one to many mapping exists, then at least one of the career Pathway Type values are expected to be submitted on the course Offering. Throw this error if none of the career pathway on course offering match with Career Pathway Type populated on the associated DPI CTE course)

How to Fix: This error displays when you have submitted a student's course data with two different values for Career Pathway Type, even though it's supposedly for the same course. For students taking CTE courses, a particular Career Pathway Type(s) is associated. The same Career Pathway Type(s) should be submitted as linked to the student's course offering, the class you offer that the student is taking for CTE. If you submit CTE course data, the Career Pathway Type value(s) should match. Review the student's CTE course information to identify the proper Career Pathway Type and ensure it's submitted for the course offering, working with your SIS vendor as necessary to locate this field.

Example: District Deb gets an error that Layla has mismatching Career Pathway Type values between the CTE course from DPI and the submitted course offering from the school. Deb researches the matter and sees that it was merely a data entry error that the code next to the matching Career Pathway was accidentally entered. Deb double checks the Career Pathway Type codes to make sure she has the right one for the CTE course. She then removes the mismatched value and submits the matching value for Career Pathway Type on the course offering record.
