Error 6582

  • Short Text: Invalid 'Grade Level Placement;" Grade provided is outside the low – high range for the expected transfer district or school for the next school year.

  • Long Text: Invalid 'Grade Level Placement;" Grade provided is outside the low – high range for the expected transfer district or school for the next school year. The student does not yet have a subsequent enrollment in WISEdata. Grade Level Placement must be within the low – high range of the district identified as expected transfer district, if a district other than your own is selected, or if the school identified as expected transfer school is within your own district. Completed School Term is 'Y’, so the grade range from the following year, the year in which the student may count as a dropout, is used. Review the grade, repeated grade indicator, Completed School Term, and the expected transfer district and/or school.

  • Business Rules:

    • Logic--Throw to Submitting school, If repeat grade indicator = N or NULL and CST = Y and expected transfer lea or school is not null and grade level of next school year not present in given expected lea or school. Do not throw if For grade =12 and RepeatGradeIndicator = 0 or null

  • How to Fix: Verify the student’s correct grade level, checking with teachers and staff, as necessary. The student doesn’t have a new enrollment at the expected transfer school yet but is showing as having completed the prior school term, making the student a potential dropout. After making sure the student is indeed attending the school in question, double check that the student’s grade level is one available at the particular school. Work with the transfer school/district as needed. Remove the invalid grade level value and enter an appropriate grade level to reflect the student’s status at the new school.

  • Example: District Deb finds an error on Desiree’s record that she has an invalid grade level placement for her expected transfer. When she looks into the matter, Deb learns Desiree completed her recent school year of eighth grade at Pirouette Middle School and will be transferring to Plié High School, though she does not have a new enrollment started there yet. However, her grade for the expected transfer school is still eighth, an invalid grade level option at Plié. Deb removes the invalid grade level and enters ninth grade for Desiree for her expected transfer to Plié High.
