Error 6592

  • Short Text: End date of Special Education program association (SSEPA End Date) must be within the school year associated with this resource.

  • Long Text: End date of Special Education program association (SSEPA End Date) must be within the school year associated with this resource. SSEPA End Date is expected when 1) a subsequent SSEPA record exists in the same district for the student or 2) IEP/ISP is revoked by parent or 3) student is no longer eligible for special education services or 4) the student exited the district.

  • Business Rules:

    • Calculation--IF endDate of sSEPA is NOT within the school year associated with the sSEPA or next school year

    • Logic--Get year from school year of resource.

  • How to Fix: Verify the student’s special education program data, consulting the active, most recent IEP as needed. Check for the student’s special education program association (sSEPA) end date, generally one calendar year from the program begin date. Remove the invalid date from your SIS and enter the correct sSEPA end date, ensuring it’s within the current school year or the next school year. Check with your SIS vendor if you need help finding the appropriate field to enter this date.

    • In the scenario of a parent revoking consent or the IEP team determining the child is no longer eligible, a notice is sent to the parent indicating the date the services will end. This date should be used as the sSEPA End Date. In the scenario where the student exits the district while receiving special education services, the SSEPA End Date should equal the Exit Withdrawal Date.

  • Example: District Deb notices an error on Patricia’s record that her special education program association end date is incorrect. Deb checks into the matter and finds that Patricia is a special education student with an active IEP for her Autism. Patricia’s special education services started September 12, 2016, and run for a full year with an end date of September 11, 2017. Deb sees that the end date that was entered was June 10, 2020, as that’s when Patricia is due to be all done with high school. Deb knows this is an annual record with annual dates and not for all of Patricia's schooling, so she removes the 2020 date and enters a value of September 11, 2017, in the sSEPA End Date field.
