Error 6594

  • Short Text: Special Education Program Association IEP end date is missing or is invalid.

  • Long Text: Special Education Program Association IEP end date is missing or is invalid. IEP/ISP end date of Special Education Program Association is required and must be within the school year of this resource or the next school year.

  • Business Rule Impact:

    • Calculation-- iepEndDate of sSEPA is NOT within the school year of this resource or the next school year

    • This error will result in data not being included for Oct 1 Child Count reporting. This validation is functioning as intended (Currently not listed on the bug issues list) and should be resolved prior to snapshot.

  • How to Fix: First make sure the student has an active Special Education Program Association (sSEPA) and an active IEP. The IEP must have a start date during the current school year or the school year prior, and the IEP end date must be within the current school year or the following school year. Verify the IEP begin and end dates, checking with the student’s services team, if necessary. If the IEP end date was missing, enter the appropriate end date value. If the value was previously entered incorrectly, such that it was an end date during the prior school year, for example, clear the old value and enter the correct IEP end date, ensuring it is either in the current school year or the next.

  • Example: District Deb notes an error popping up on Jeanie’s record that her IEP end date is invalid. When Deb looks into the situation, she learns that Jeanie recently had an IEP reevaluation on Oct. 5, 2016, for this current school year, while her record still displays the outdated end date from the summer before the current school year began. Deb verifies that Jeanie’s sSEPA start date is correct and aligns with the new IEP begin date of Oct. 5, 2016. Then she modifies the IEP end date to Oct. 4, 2017, a year from the start date, to clear the error.
